Paper Mache & Printmaking Workshops (Procession)

Sat, September 2, 2023, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (RSVP HERE)

Paper Mache

Workshop participants will learn basic paper-mache techniques to build portable sculptures such as fish (Arroyo Chub, Steelhead), coyotes and birds (egrets).

Printmaking

Workshop participants will learn basic block-printing techniques (printing and carving) and create designs that contribute to a collective artwork for Procession.

Inspired by the LA River and its living ecosystem we will collectively create objects and designs that highlight the relationship between humans and all other forms of life such as plants, animals and water!

+ + + +

Procession invites Los Angeles residents to explore the history of the LA River and the ground beneath their feet through FREE storytelling and art workshops, performances, and a family-friendly festival at LA State Historic Park on October 21, 2023.

Procession includes three walking performances that converge at the Los Angeles State Historic Park (LASHP) on October 21, 2023.
