As part of Meztli Projects' work to support Native and Indigenous artists and community members, in 2021 we were able to secure a grant from the California Arts Council to provide IndigenARTS & Wellness a project blending Indigenous practices with mental health and wellness support, using a variety of culturally relevant art-forms to generate dialogue around intergenerational trauma & resiliency, sexual & gendered violence, systemic violence, art as medicine & a healing tool, to process, reflect and work towards individual & collective wellness.
