Opening Reception: July 21, 2024 | 12:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Product of Our Environment is a collaboration by siblings Antonio and Rihanna Barrera honoring their childhood in South Central Los Angeles. Under the direction of Rihanna, they trace personal landmarks revisiting grief and time with an eye toward younger family members' interactions with street life in the present. Through Antonio’s photography and Rihanna’s installation work, they mirror to others what it’s like to grow up in South Central Los Angeles and experience so much heaviness firsthand. This project hopes to break the cycles of intergenerational trauma and honor the resiliency of family members.

About Quiet Please Pop-Up
Quiet Please cultivates positive creative spaces that showcase artists at different phases in their careers focusing on building community and relationships.
Quiet Please is an artist-run space founded at a small gallery space in Los Feliz called The INN Gallery in 2016. This project developed due to a shortage of spaces and opportunities. They were passionate about bringing talented artists together from mixed disciplines in the fine arts. Quiet Please organized the first show and due to the success, were invited to host Quiet Please in a variety of spaces since its inception in 2016. In January 2024 Quiet Please finally established a permanent project space where they have hosted 4 shows. They continue to provide experiences for artists that are open, supportive and passion-heavy. Quiet Please wants artists to have a positive experience and hope to open doors to other opportunities. They hope to expand the space as they continue to build this project.
