Paper Mache & Movement (dance) Workshops (Procession)

Sat, Sep 16, 2023, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (RSVP HERE)

Paper Mache

Workshop participants will learn basic paper-mache techniques to build portable sculptures such as fish (Arroyo Chub, Steelhead), coyotes and birds (egrets).

Movement (dance)

Through storytelling and sharing our connections to the river, workshop participants will learn movements and songs by Cultural Bearers*.

Inspired by the LA River and its living ecosystem we will collectively create objects and designs that highlight the relationship between humans and all other forms of life such as plants, animals and water!

*Culture Bearers are the carriers of traditional knowledge who connect communities to their cultural assets and their collective identity.
